PDP and National Conference suffered a blow here on today in Bandipora Constituency, when dozens of Prominent Workers of NC and PDP joined Congress party in Presence of Congress State General Secretry and Former MLA Bandipora Usman Majid. During a function held in Bandipora, Dozens of PDP and NC joined Congress party and resolved to work for further strengthening the party in Bandipora constituency.
Speaking on the Occasion, Joined Workers said that, the NC and PDP playing with the lives of Kashmiri people and with their dignity and honour. This is the reason that we have resigned from the NC and PDP respectively and joined the Congress. Workers said that they were fed up by the divisive politics being nurtured by these two Parties who want to divide the society.
New Entrants attributed their joining into Congress to the miserable attitude of NC, PDP towards public concerns adding that the parties are only in search of occasions to ignite tension between various sections of the society by exploiting their sentiments on one or the other pretext”, they said and added that the lucidity and truthfulness in the politics of Congress and the dynamism of senior Congress Leader and Former MLA Bandipora Usman Majid to seek equitable development, peace and prosperity for the area, has made them to join Congress and work for the welfare of people of Bandipora Constituency.
Joined workers expressing full faith on Usman Majid’s leadership said that, they are joining Congress because they feel this is the only party that can guarantee the unity of Jammu and Kashmir and steer the state to peace, progress and prosperity. “Congress is the only which works for the welfare and uplift of the poor and downtrodden in the state,” they said.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, MLA Bandipora Usman Majid Speaking on the occasion assured them to come up to their expectations and continue to struggle for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden people initiated by the party. He said that the doors of the party were always open for those who believe in the program and policies of the Congress and have faith in its leadership. Majid said that, I welcome the decision of Dozens of NC and PDP workers to join Congress. It is a right decision at the right time, This would help the people of Bandipora in all spheres of development. Congress will give due honour to each worker, he said.
Majid said that joining of such a large number of NC, and PDP workers was a clear indication that people cannot be befooled any more by the deceitful tactics of the NC, and PDP leaderships. He said that Congress party is determined to change destiny of the people of J&K.
