New Delhi: Iltija Mufti, daughter of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, attacked the Modi government, saying that on one side Delhi is burning, 80 lakh Kashmiris are deprived of their fundamental rights, on the other. The Indian government is busy hosting US President Donald Trump.

He said that Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy is remembered only during the visit of Sabarmati Ashram of foreign dignitaries. Iltija tweeted that, “On one hand, Delhi is burning and 80 lakh Kashmiris are deprived of their rights, on the other hand. ‘High Tea’, and ‘Namaste Trump’ are being organized. The legacy of Mahatma Gandhi is remembered only during the visit of foreign dignitaries to the Sabarmati Ashram. Their values have been forgotten long ago.”

Mehbooba Mufti was put under house arrest after the withdrawal of Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir on August 5, after which Iltija has been operating her Twitter account. (KNT)
