Budgam : Traders association Chadoora on Tuesday alleged that administration has failed to impose complete lockdown in the red zone area at Chadoora in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Shopkeepers at main market Chadoora told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that new positive cases are being reported every day from an area which has already been declared a red zone by district administration Budgam, however, they have failed to impose complete lockdown there.
A shopkeeper from Chadoora said that the man whose daughter tested positive is still selling meat at his shop near hospital at Chadoora thus putting the lives of others in danger, yet the authorities are in deep slumber.
“Is this lockdown for only those who want to open their shops in buffer zones with SOP’s or lockdown for people who live in red zones and are roaming freely in the market,” said vice-president traders association Chadoora.
However, SDM Chadoora PN Hameed refuted the allegations and said that they are sealing the shops which they found violating the rules.
“People want me to allow them to open their shops, but I can’t allow them until reports will come negative from the area,” he added.
He said that people should think about themselves and others and they should follow the lockdown rules while requesting the citizens to co-operate with admin and stay at home—(KNO)
