Srinagar: Several illegal structures were demolished by Enforcement squad of Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) around Dal Lake on Wednesday.
The demolition drive was conducted in the areas of Ishber Nishat, Shalimar, Latti Mohalla, Moti Mohalla & interiors of Dal Lake in which 2nd storey, roofing & ten wooden sheds which were illegally raised by some violators were demolished on spot, an official spokesman said Valley Media Service in a statement. According to the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA), the general public is requested not to undertake any construction in the territorial jurisdiction of the LAWDA without seeking permission from the competent authority.
“It is also impressed that no construction activity within 200 meters from the lake, the green belt should come up and the violators shall be dealt with strictly under the law,” he added. (VMS)
