Modi govt stoking sectarian passion’

Srinagar : Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah on Tuesday strongly condemned the attacks on Kashmiri students in Jammu and other cities of India and said the Modi-led government is inviting “destruction” by stoking the sectarian passion.

“The way the acts of violence are being imposed on Kashmiri students, it is evident that such vicious and unjust acts are supported by Indian government. If these students in future opt for revenge and pick up guns against barbarism and injustice, then India will have no justification to call them terrorists. Such vicious acts are a test of our patience,” a spokesperson of LeT Dr Abdullah Ghaznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying.

He said if people of Kashmir will make a decision, then no Hindu Yatri or tourist will have the opportunity to visit Jammu & Kashmir.

Lashkar chief also thanked the Sikh community for expressing the “sentiments of unity and religious harmony” and protecting Kashmiri students from “Hindu” mobs.

“The way they (Sikhs) protected our children in Punjab, it is an example of higher status of humanity. We are thankful to them,” LeT chief said.

Meanwhile, Mehmood Shah has paid tribute to Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militant killed in Pulwama and said “their sacrifices have proved that India can never suppress the indigenous freedom struggle of Jammu Kashmir”.

“The way in which the freedom fighters fought and killed four Indian forces personnel including a Major is highly appreciative and an act of bravery,” he said.

The way the people of Pulwama resisted has proved that the Kashmir’s indigenous freedom struggle has entered into its fourth and final phase, Shah said.

The LeT chief also condemned the blowing up of public properties and business establishments by forces. (GNS)
