KVIC organises Awareness Camp on PMEGP 2nd Phase

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) organised a one-day Awareness camp for 2nd financial assistance under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) for expansion of the existing successful PMEGP units at PMTC, KVIC, Pampore.
The aim of this camp, organised on Wednesday was to make the successful entrepreneurs aware about the 2nd phase of PMEGP also to generate awareness among the unemployed youth for generating self-employment opportunities.
The programme was chaired by the State Director KVIC, J&K D. S. Bhati. Among others Anil Kumar Sharma, Principal PMTC, KVIC, Pampore, staff of KVIC and large number of beneficiaries were also present.
On the occasion, State Director said that Government of India approved continuation of PMEGP beyond 12th five-year Plan for a period of 3 years from 2017-18 to 2019-20 with a financial outlay of Rs.5,500 Crores.
He said that Provision made for 2nd loan for upgrading the existing financed under PMEGP units, which are performing well in terms of turnover, profit and loan repayment.
Bhati said that Financial assistance for manufacturing units is upto Rs.1.00 Crore and for Service/Trading Units upto Rs.25.00 lakhs. Subsidy 15% (20% for NER &Hilly States) for all category while Own contribution 10% of Project cost for all category.
In the beginning Anil Kumar Sharma gave detailed information about the 2nd phase of PMEGP. Anil said that On PMEGP e-portal, a separate application link is provided to submit the application which needs documents like Previous ‘loan sanction letter’ issued by the Bank, Proof of ‘MM claims adjusted against previous loan, ‘Bank Certificate for full loan repayment’, Project report for expansion and upgrading the unit, Passport size photograph, IT returns for the last 3 years and Annual accounts certified by Chartered Accountant for the last 3 years.
During the programme the beneficiaries raised various queries and problems faced by them on which State Director assured them the problems may be taken up with the concerned quarters for early disposal. Besides, the staff of KVIC will be available for the beneficiaries for filling up the applications for the 2nd phase of PMEGP.
