Srinagar: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Friday said that it served 94 notices in the month of May to the consumers, who were found involved in power pilferages in Rajbagh area of Srinagar.
Besides, the KPDCL advised consumers to refrain from any power pilferage.
The DISCOM further said that it penalised 2100 consumers for recording low consumption and using power unauthorisedly.
According to the KPDCL on its microblogging platform said, “Consumers are advised to refrain from power pilferages. Heavy penalties are being imposed.”
“We have served 94 notices in the month of MAY-2024 to consumers found indulging in electricity theft, Rs 6.05 lacs have been recovered against these penalties,” it reads.
KPDCL added “2100 consumers imposed penalty for recording low consumption & using power unauthorisedly #ESD Hawal!
Some of them barged into SDOs’ office and created ruckus. They will be reported to Police.”—(KNO)
