Sensitization Of Hotliers Also Held
Srinagar: District Development Commissioner kishtwar, Rajinder Singh Tara today convened a meeting of officers of health and ICDS department here at DC Office Kishtwar and took a stock of preparatory works to tackle the Corona threat at the ground level.
According to CNS, Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hanief Malik,Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Pawan Parihar, DSWO Kishtwar,Tariq Qazi,Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar Dr. R S Manhas , Medical Superintendent DH kishtwar Dr. Tariq Parveez ,Dy CMO Dr. Mohd. Farid Butt, AD Planning ACD Office Munish kumar among others were present in the meeting.
During the meeting DDC asked the Chief Medical Officer Kishtwar to use loudspeakers and drum beating as a medium of educating people about prevailing threat of corona virus in all Health Blocks of District Kishtwar.
During the meeting he also took stock of establishment of isolation wards, home quarantines, availability of masks, essential medicines, awareness generation programmes and sensitization of staff among others.
DDC further directed the CMO to conduct frequent inspections at public places such as bus stands, hotels and other places of social gatherings and educate the masses about problem of spreading COVID 19.
Besides PO, ICDS and CMO Kishtwar were asked to coordinate their efforts for disseminating awareness about COVID-19 among the masses including people living in rural areas through ASHAs, Anganwari Workers, Anganwadi Helpers and other grass root level functionaries.
In this regard he asked for conducting trainings and orientation programmes of these Gross root level functionaries so that they are able to aware the masses in right and informed manner.
DDC further exhorted upon CMO to rope in BMOs and conduct a series of such training and Sensitization programmes at block level before 15th of March and asked CMO to submit a report in this regard on daily basis.
Later on DDC convened a meeting of hoteliers and reviewed status of the precautionary measures taken by hoteliers to prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
While interacting with hoteliers he said that it is our prime duty to keep a close check on persons visiting from abroad and staying in the hotels of Kishtwar, as they are prone to be the prime carrier of COVID19 from abroad.
In this regard all the hoteliers should scrutinize the self-declaration forms of every visiting person on daily bases and also note down the preliminary health status of each and every guest and in case of any doubt of being infectious one should invariably report the health authorities so that future course of action could be taken to prevent any further infections, DDC added.
He further directed them to maintain proper sanitation and hygiene in and around their hotels to avoid the chances of spreading this pandemic. (CNS)
