Pays tributes to Sabzar, Asif
SRINAGAR: Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief Mehmood Shah while paying tribute to Sabzar Ahmed Sofi and Asif Ahmed who were killed in a gunfight with government forces on Wednesday said that by sacrificing their lives, they have conveyed a clear message that Kashmiris have never surrendered before New Delhi.
“Our heads may be slaughtered but we will never bow down before illegal occupation. Such are the passions found in the youth today,” a spokesperson of LeT Dr Abdullah Ghanznavi in a statement issued to GNS quoted Shah as saying.
Shah said New Delhi’s all tactics have failed and now it is resorting to using force to suppress the “indigenous freedom struggle”.
“But it (New Delhi) has always been unsuccessful in its vicious tactics. The blood of martyrs will bring about the freedom from darkness,” he said.
LeT chief said Indian “atrocities” are increasing with each passing day. “The martyrdom of PhD scholars is enough to expose India. The world must observe that why a student from an Indian university opted to pick up guns against India which is shedding the blood of innocents in Jammu Kashmir. This is enough for anyone to rise against the unjust occupation,” he said adding that this is the very reason New Delhi doesn’t allow the international human rights organizations to visit Jammu Kashmir.
Mehmood Shah also warned the informers to “abstain from selling your faith for little worldly benefits”.
“The freedom requires immense sacrifices. It never goes into vain. If a PhD scholar attains martyrdom today, several others are ready to pick up his legacy,” Lashkar chief said. (GNS)
