Bandipora : A Kashmiri youth released from Agra Jail reached home today.
Tanveer Ahmed Ganai son of Abdul Rashid Ganai, a resident of Ashtangoo Bandipora here in North Kashmir was arrested after the abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir and subsequently, he was booked under Public Safety Act (DMB-PSA-2019) and shifted to Agra Jail in Uttar Pradesh.
The court quashed his detention under Public Safety Act and two days back he was released from Agra Jail.
A police official told KNT that Tanvir Ahmed Ganai reached his home on Friday afternoon. ‘Before reaching his home, he was medically examined, the official said.
Scores of Kashmiris are still lodged in different jails of India, particularly in Uttar Pradesh. The family members of these Kashmiri prisoners, who have been lodged in different jails across India since Article 370 was scrapped, are expressing concern in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak that has gripped the entire world.
