Kashmiri students barred from attending classes due to beard in Bengaluru College

SRINAGAR: Four students from Kashmir, enrolled in a nursing college in Bengaluru were allegedly barred from attending classes until they shaved their beards.

The students alleged that citing reasons of ‘hygiene’, the college principal informed them that their internal marks would be affected if they failed to comply.

They alleged that the principal, who joined the Adarsh College of Nursing in Mariyappana, Mallathahalli 20 days ago, asked us to shave to only Kashmiri students. She barred students from entering class.

When Press Trust of Kashmir contacted Director of Adarsh College of Nursing Jaanes, he said that the report published by Newspaper is baseless and nonsense.

He added that in every college there is some rules and regulation which students should follow. When asked about clean shaven, he said that Omar Abdullah have clean shave, Farooq Abdullah have clean shave so there is nothing in clean slave. “But we never ask students for clean shave. We also know about religious”, he added.

He further added that “according to rules of University they have to come college with clean slave but still i allow them but they have to do trimmer and come college”. He said all students are same for college whether they are from Kashmir are any other place”. (PTK)
