SRINAGAR : Kashmir valley is observing complete shutdown reciprocation to the Ministry of Home Affair’s decision to ban JKLF.

All shops and business establishment are closed throughout the valley while public transport is hard to see. Reports of shutdown poured in to PTK from all the major towns of valley.

The call for shutdown was given by Joint Resistance Leadership ( JRL ) that consists of Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yaseen Malik on Saturday in response to the decision of banning Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front ( JKLF ) led by Mohammad Yaseen Malik.

It must be mentioned here that Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday evening banned Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front for five years and accused it of doing anti-nation activities. Chairman of JKLF was already booked under PSA nearly 17 days back and was shifted to a Jammu jail. JKLF was become second ‘organisation’ to get banned in last one month.

The forces launched a massive crackdown after February 20 against Jamaat-e-Islami, Hurriyat and other pro-freedom leadership.

Earlier, Jamaat-e-Islami was banned by MHA for five years and many of the Jamaat-e-Islami owned offices were sealed while tens of its leaders were booked under Public Safety Act.

This has come near to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections which will began in valley next month. (PTK)
