Srinagar : A complete lockdown was observed in Kashmir to observe Janta curfew on Sunday, while Srinagar and other parts remained closed for 4th consecutive day to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
In Srinagar city, people largely stayed indoors even as government imposed restrictions for fourth consecutive day to prevent deadly virus outbreak.
Strict curfew-like restrictions on the movement and assembly of people were imposed across all districts.
On Sunday, in view of nationwide Janta curfew, the deployment of government forces was strengthened and more barricades, including concertina wire, were put up at several places across the valley.
Earlier the restrictions on public movement and assembly were imposed on March 18 after a 67-year-old woman from Khanyar area was tested positive for coronavirus, making her a first CVID-19 case in Kashmir.
The entire Jammu and Kashmir has so far recorded four positive cases of COVID-19.
Public and transport services also remained suspended for fourth day in the valley.
The roads and highways were barricaded and concertina wires erected to stop the movement of vehicles. Local train service between Baramulla and Banihal also remained shut for 4th straight day. (JKNS)
