Srinagar : J&K Cements Association staged a protest demonstration here at Press Colony Srinagar to highlight the demands of their employees.
The Association has requested for the early settlements of their pending issues.
According to the chairman of the Association, Ali Mohammad Kumar said, “We had approached the authorities for the redressal of the issues earlier as well but they have failed to look into it”.
“The management have been unresponsive for a long time and have put least efforts to look into the genuine issue of employees so far”, he said.
From last four months till December 2018, no salary was released due to which the condition of the workers have turned worse.
The workers of the company are going through tough times failing to arrange the daily basic necessities.
“The workers have seen difficult situations. We are unable to fulfill the basic requirements of life to survive and sustain. There are no other sources available as well where we could find the solution. It feels the workers are in torture”, he added.
The chairman said that all the alternative doors available in the form of CP Fund and Welfare fund are closed for the employees too.
The Employees Association took to roads demanding their legitimate dues before media.
They have appealed governor Satya Pal Malik and concerned administration to look into the matter.
“We humbly appeal honourable Governor for our rescue and save this prime corporation of the State by bringing it back on the profitable track. We request them to provide sufficient budgetary support and save the future of 800 employees working in Jammu and Kashmir Cement Limited”, he said.(VMS)
