Srinagar : An Army officer was killed while 8 structures including a Government School were damaged after Pakistan Army resorted to mortar shelling and firing in Rajouri and Gurez areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports said that a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday in Pakistan firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Defense spokesperson from Jammu Lieutenant Colonel Dacinder Ananad said that the
Lt Col Devender Anand, PRO (Defence) Jammu confirmed the killing of the JCO, saying the incident took place in Keri sector of Rajouri.
Pertinently, on August 30, a JCO identified as Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh, a resident of village Goindwal Sahib in Amritsar’s Khadur Sahib Tehsil in Punjab was killed in Pakistani shelling along the LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district.
Meanwhile, four residential houses, a government high school and a Madrasa suffered damages after Pakistan resorted to mortar shelling in Bagroor area of Gurez here in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
Sources told KNT that shells land in Tarbal village damages residential houses of Abdul Jabar Ahangar, Javiad Ahmed Ahangar, Farooq Ahmed Ganaie and Abdul Razak Ganaie. A government high school building and a madrasa too suffered partial damaged in the shelling. (KNT)
