Srinagar : Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has paid tribute to its commander Anwar Abbasi who was killed in a gunfight with forces on Friday at Daar Ganaigund village of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
“Anwar Abbasi was a great warrior who sacrificed his life for the Kashmir freedom struggle and Islam,” a JeM spokesperson Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to GNS said.
He however claimed that during the gunfight, the outfit caused heavy damage to forces.
Hassan added, “India should read the writing on the wall that it can no longer stay in Kashmir.”
The spokesperson also strongly condemned the “atrocities” inflicted upon common people by government forces during the cordon and search operations. (GNS)
