SRINAGAR: Jaish-e-Mohammad has claimed the responsibility of Sunday’s attack on a CRPF camp near Railway station Kakpora in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

One paramilitary trooper was killed in the attack. However, the outfit’s spokesperson Mohammad Hassan in a statement issued to GNS on Tuesday late evening said two personnel of 183 battalion were killed and several injured in the attack.

The outfit added, “after the attack at Kakapora, the mujahedeen escaped from the spot safely but on the way, Indian forces had made a program of laying ambush at Gundi Bagh and had been stationed on road.”

“As the mujahedeen reached the spot, they immediately attacked the forces’ party in which 9 personnel were killed and several injured,” JeM said in the statement adding that its men reached their destinations safely.

Meanwhile, the Jaish-e-Mohammad also claimed responsibility of the “sniper” attack on an army camp at Newa area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday evening.

“Two Indian forces personnel were killed and several injured in the attack,” the outfit claimed in the statement. (GNS)
