SRINAGAR: The students of the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora on Thursday held massive protests against the killing of a minor girl in Kupwara district yesterday.

The students assembled inside the campus and held a demonstration to denounce the killing of minor girl Kaneeza who police said died after being hit by a “stray bullet” near the site of gunfight.

Pertinently three militants were killed in the gunfight that raged for hours in Hyhama village of the district yesterday.

The protesting students also started an online campaign “#straybullet” on social media networking sites Instagram and Facebook.
