In Islam there is no room for Valentine’s Day, it is clearly forbidden in Islam. Festivals are very well mentioned in Islam which are essential part of our worship and no personal opinion is accepted.

In Islam festivals are according to Quran and Sunnah. Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “Festivals are part of the laws, clear way and religious ceremonies of which Allah says; to each you we have a clear way [Quran 5:48] at another place Allah Says; For every nation we have ordained religious ceremonies which they must follow [Quran 22:67] Valentine’s Day belong to roman times, it is not an Islamic way to display love and affection, Muslims should not take part in this particular festival.
Love on Valentine’s is romantic love, it’s more like boyfriend-girlfriend relationship, there is no such relationship in Islam.
In Islam you are either married or not. Islam depicts wife’s love for her husband and vice versa which should be displayed through out the year.Islam is a complete way of life which guides us in every aspect it includes love and care for one another.
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said; “if a man loves his brother let him tell him that he loves him[Abu Dawood]. Love in Islam is very simple, there is love of Allah, love for Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] and his companions, there is love for righteous people, love for poor and needy in the society.
On Valentine’s day, it is clearly love before marriage which is wrong thing in itself. Valentine’s day is the festival which belong to non Muslims, and Muslims should not adhere to the festival of non Muslims.
The Prophet Muhammad said whoever imitates a people is one of them {Abu Dawood}. Celebrating Valentine’s day means imitating the Pagan Romans which is Haram (prohibited) in Islam.
On the authority of Abdullah Ibn Amr Ibn Aas who said: “The Messenger of Allah saw me wearing two saffron garments and he said, “Indeed these are from the dress of the Kuffaar so do not wear them.”
Valentines day or festival of love was the festival of Pagan Romans which they used to celebrate in the mid-February each year, Prophet Muhammad said, “We do not think that there is anything better for those who love one another than marriage [Ibn Majaah].
Valentine’s day is being celebrated on 14 Feb. Every year in which mostly young boys and girls exchange gifts especially red roses, such celebrations are forbidden in Islam rather it is obligatory for Muslims to adhere Quran and Hadith and to remain far away for Valentine’s day as it is the festival of Pagan Christians.
Whoever participate in Valentine’s day commits sin, all of these things are considered as co- operating in sin and transgression and disobedience of Allah and His Messenger. Allah, the Glorious and Most High, says: “and co- operate with one another in righteousness and piety, and do not co-operate in sin and transgression. And fear Allah! Verily Allah is severe in punishment.” [Soorah al-Maa.idah, Aayah 2]
Valentines day in the world today is focused expressing love, Valentine’s day breaks all barriers, there are boys and girls, men and women who start off illicit relationship through Valentines’s Day.
We Muslims express love through halal means like love of husband and wife.so we muslims should follow Quran and hadith in letter and spirit SAY NO TO VALENTINE’S DAY. Brothers and sisters show to the world that islam is a complete code for life, there is nothing wrong when i say to all of you that do not celebrate Valentines day. In nut shell Valentine’s Day degrade the honour of boys, girls, men , women, and families.
