Srinagar, January 19: Some influential people have started a negative and false propaganda against the present Lt. Governor led administration in Jammu and Kashmir over the government land retrieval from encroachers, Altaf Thakur senior BJP leader and party’s JK spokesman said.
In a statement to media Thakur asked people to check the media reports and verify that some leading newspapers have reported a decade back that prime land has been given to influential people on peanuts under infamous Roshni Act in J&K.
“Not only cultivable land, forest and commercial property was given to these people in return of few pennies,” Thakur said, adding that same people have started a campaign against the government.
Thakur also appealed the honorable Lt governor of J&K to initiate the process of land retrieval from these posh localities in Srinagar and Jammu on priority basis, so that general public is benefitted.
