Baramulla :The armies of India and Pakistan Saturday afternoon exchanged gunfire at Hajipeer sector, Nambla and Rustum post in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that this afternoon Pakistani rangers resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation which was retaliated to by the India army.
He said Pakistani rangers violated ceasefire and targeted the forward post of Indian army along the line of control (LoC) in these areas.
Meanwhile, locals told KNO that areas like, Rustum post, Nambla and Hajiper Sector were affected to the ceasefire as panic gripped in these village and people were seen running for cover.
Senior Superintendent of police (SSP), Baramulla Abdul Qayoom also confirmed to KNO that the ceasefire violation in these areas took place in this afternoon.
“There was, however, no loss of life or damage to property so far,” he said—(KNO)
