Srinagar: Sajjan Jindal, Chairman and Managing Director of JSW Group, has announced plans to transform Kashmir’s picturesque tourist resort, Gulmarg, into a world-class destination.
The initiative will be undertaken through the JSW Foundation and aims to enhance tourism infrastructure, particularly in skiing and holiday experiences.
Jindal made this announcement following a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Describing the meeting as highly productive, he stated that discussions revolved around the comprehensive development of Gulmarg, including upgrading its ski slopes to attract global tourists.
“The goal is to make Gulmarg a premier international destination for skiing and holidays,” Jindal said.
He emphasized that the JSW Group is committed to contributing towards the development of the Kashmir’s tourism potential. JSW Group is a leading Indian multinational conglomerate with a diverse presence across sectors including steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, and sports. [KNT]
