SRINAGAR: The Muslim Conference Working President Jahangir Gani Butt in a statement to press has condemned the killing of seven civilians in Kulgam. He said everyday government forces in Kashmir kill civilians and no one among them is held accountable.
The valley is in grief; almost 50 other persons are reported to have been wounded in the blast that took place at an encounter site. The condition of five other injured persons is stated to be critical. He said the government forces are directly responsible for murder and for the blast. They should have cleared the area after conducting an operation against militants at Laroo Shurat in Kulgam.
Government of India should understand the situation in Kashmir and should take concrete steps to resolve this conflict once for all. People of Kashmir are fighting for achieving the right to self-determination, the sacrifices rendered by people of Kashmir especially by our youths bleeds our hearts but strengthens our resolve.
Jahangir further said, Indian forces present in Jammu Kashmir are committing crimes against humanity and unleashing terror due to the unbridled powers they enjoy under the draconian laws. He extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and added, we were mourning the killing of Fateh-Kadal and Pulwama and now forces created mayhem in Kulgam. Killing and conflict has to end and it will end by taking people of Kashmir, Pakistan and India on board.
