‘MHRD prepares roadmap for upliftment of Madrassas to improve student outcome’
Srinagar : In a significant development, the Jammu and Kashmir government has proposed a special package for the infrastructural up-gradation and quality improvement in Madrasas functional in Jammu and Kashmir.
An official wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the school education department is likely to get a special package from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) under its new policy for overall improvement in education sector wherein the significant share will be utilized for Madrasas as well.
“Recently, the MHRD confirmed to the school education department that it is preparing a special scheme for improving quality of education and improvement in education sector and Madrasas will be included in it as well,” the official said.
Also, a high level delegation from MHRD led by secretary school education and literacy, held several meeting with the Jammu and Kashmir administration and discussed the functioning of Madrasas in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The meeting was actually convened by MHRD to discuss the implication of enactment of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019. During the discussion, the MHRD delegation announced special package for the education sector of Jammu and Kashmir,” the official said.
He said the officials from planning department informed the MHRD delegation that it has prepared a proposal for special package for the education department of Jammu and Kashmir which will be submitted to MHRD for its approval.
“Besides announcing new package, the MHRD delegation asked the officials of school education department to work out on all the issues which were included in the roadmap prepared by MHRD for the education sector of Jammu and Kashmir,” the official told KNO.
In the road map, the MHRD stressed on teacher trainings and improving learning outcomes of students in government schools and asked the school education department to overcome the infrastructural gaps in the educational institutions.
In wake of the decision of Government of India to bifurcate Jammu and Kashmir into Union Territories (UTs), the central government has proposed several packages for revolutionizing the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir. Besides, school education, MHRD has announced several financial packages for higher education sector of Jammu and Kashmir as well. (KNO)
