Srinagar: Inspector General of police (IGP) traffic Basant Rath has slammed Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his ‘leave India’ response to a cricket fan who had tweeted that he enjoys watching English and Australian batsmen more than Indian cricketers.

In a hart hitting post on his Twitter handle, IGP Rath suggested the ace Indian cricketer to keep patriotism to himself.

“Dear Virat Kohli, I love Javed Miandad. You please keep your cricket patriotism to yourself. And to your advertisement contracts,” Rath wrote on his Twitter handle.

Kohli triggered a row after a fan observed that he sees nothing special in the skipper’s batting and that he enjoys watching English and Australian batsmen more than this Indian.

In response, Kohli came with a bizarre reply asking the fan to leave India.

“Okay, I don’t think you should live in India then… you should go and live somewhere else, no? Why are you living in our country and loving other countries? I don’t mind you not liking me but I don’t think you should live in our country and like other things. Get your priorities right.” Kohli wrote in his reply to the fan.
