Srinagar: Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq & Mohamad Yasin Malik on Wednesday expressed deep grief over the death of a woman in Tahab Pulwama. They strongly condemned state forces for their brutality and while expressing their sorrow for loss of precious lives said that unbridled powers vested in them and use of brute force against civilians is of great concern.
Referring to indiscriminate use of force by men in uniform, resistance leaders said that they enjoy impunity and license to kill anybody and till now no single forces personnel was brought to book or asked for the brutalities against peaceful civilians.
In their statement, the resistance leaders expressed their anguish against the indiscriminate use of smoke shells, & said there seems no letup as experts have declared these weapons as lethal and asked authorities to stop this practice against humans.
Resistance leaders in their appeal to organizations for human rights & international community urged to take cognizance of reports of use of lethal weapons and atrocities being inflicted by forces against civilian population in nook and corner of the state and asked to use their influence for restricting these lethal weapons.
