SHOPIAN : Hundreds of people on Monday participated in the funeral prayers of the cable operator who was killed by unknown gunmen outside the district hospital in Shopian.
Identified as Hilal Ahmad Malik, 35, he was running Shopian’s main cable network for last more than 15 years. He had multiple injuries and was rushed to the local hospital where from he was shifted to Srinagar. He breathed his last near Pulwama; Hilal is survived by a son who is 3 years old and his wife.
However, no militant outfit has claimed the responsibility of the attack. Police late Sunday afternoon issued a statement claiming that on the basis of human and technical intelligence police identified the “militants who killed the cable network” owner Hilal Ahmad Malik.
Police identified the involved militants as Zubair Ahmad Turray son of Bashir Ahmad Turray resident of Bonbazar, Shopian and Umar Nazir Malik alias Khattab son of Nazir Ahmad Malik resident of Malikgund, Shopian.
