Srinagar: On the morning of September 23, the HMT area of Srinagar was adorned with vibrant posters of Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. The ground was set for what would become a historic political rally, the first of its scale in nearly four decades in Srinagar.The event, according to party insiders, was the result of meticulous planning and round-the-clock efforts by Congress cadres in Jammu and Kashmir. Party activists, functionaries, and leaders worked behind closed doors for days, determined to make the event not just successful but memorable. A senior Congress leader described how the entire team, regardless of rank, united to draw a massive crowd and ensure the rally conveyed the party’s key messages.”For this purpose, thousands of leaflets and pamphlets were printed in both Urdu and English, highlighting why this election is crucial and urging people to vote for Congress,” Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary told.”We emphasized old age schemes, interest-free loans for women, filling up government posts, and the restoration of statehood. We ensured these pamphlets reached every home around the venue, even going door-to-door ourselves and utilizing newspaper hawkers to spread the word.”One of the rally’s key attractions was the grand posters welcoming Rahul Gandhi. “We wanted something fresh,” Choudhary added. “Instead of the usual slogans, we designed posters featuring Rahul Ji’s quotes on Jammu and Kashmir, showcasing him as the only leader who has consistently spoken his heart for Kashmir, both inside and outside of Parliament.
