Highway and train restrictions are unprecedented and alienating: Usman Majid

Senior Congress Leader and Former MoS Planning Usman Majid here on today Lashed out at the state government’s decision to restrict civilian traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway and suspend train services during the Amarnath Yatra.

In a Statement Issued To Kashmir Patriot, Majid said that Highway and train restrictions are unprecedented & alienating. The state needs to deal with the situation without encroaching on the rights of the public. He said that this sudden imposition will have only one effect that increases the alienation of people of the region from the rest of India.

Majid urged the Governor administration to revoke the order at the earliest. He While welcoming the yearly Amarnath Yatra, said that people of JK have always been enthusiastic to extend every help to people coming from across the country to perform yearly Amarnath Yatra. He said that we welcome anyone and every one no matter of creed, caste and colour added that, it’s also known as “land of saints” who taught us the value of humanity.
