HDFC employee commits suicide in Sopore, family alleges harassment by senior

SOPORE: A 31-year-old woman committed suicide in Sopore area of district Baramulla on Thursday morning.

The woman (name withheld), daughter of Fayaz Ahmad Dar of Telian Mohalla Takyabal Sopore, an employee of HDFC Bank, reportedly committed suicide on Thursday morning by hanging herself at her residence.

A suicide note recovered near her body reads that her senior official of the bank was, harassing, torturing her during the office hours. This led to her taking the extreme step, family said.

Sopore police have registered a case in this regard and handed over the body to her family after all legal formalities. The further investigation has been initiated, police said.
