Handwara girl bags gold in National Field Indoor Archery Championship

Srinagar: An eight-year old girl Fazeelat Aslam received accolades after she won gold medal in 13th & 14th National Field Indoor Archery Championship 2023-24 held in Pune Maharashtra recently.

Fazeelat daughter of Mohammad Aslam Bhat represented Jammu & Kashmir at national level game, hails from north Kashmir’s Handwara and presently resides in Humhama. She bagged first position and won the gold medal under 10-year age category.

The championship was held at Rajaram Bhiku Pathare Stadium Pune in which more than 250 participants from 15 States and UTs took part.

Fazeelat has achieved 58 points and bagged 1st rank in 13th & 14th National Field Indoor Archery Championship 2023-24. The championship was flagged off on February 1st and will continue till February 4th.

Fazeelat while expressing gratitude said her family supported a lot during this journey and the feat couldn’t be possible without the mental and moral support of her parents.

She also said that it was a proud moment for her as she represented Jammu and Kashmir at national level.

She appealed to the younger generation of J&K to shine and excel in the fields of their choice and prove their ability and strength for making their future the brightest one.

Meanwhile, Zain Bin Hanan from Kanipora also bagged silver medal under 10-year category in Barebow Compound—(KNO)
