Govt’s decision of releasing Omar Abdullah widely hailed

Srinagar : The decision of Government of Jammu and Kashmir to release former chief minister of J&K Omar Abdullah widely hailed by all walks of life and termed the move a step towards right direction.
According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), soon after government of J&K ordered release of National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, several walks of life including political and civil society groups welcomed the move and termed it a step towards right direction.
They said as Jammu and Kashmir had been plunged into an uncertainty after August 5, 2019, the release of mainstream political leaders seems government of India has perceived that by the detention of people’s representative, things will get more deteriorated.
They appealed authorities to release further detained leaders including PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti in order to make soil of J&K fertile for political activities.
Meanwhile NC additional spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah confirmed KNS that party’s senior leader and former CM Omar Abdullah’s detention order has been revoked. She welcomed the move and hoped that other caged leaders are also be released.
Moreover sources told KNS that authorities are mulling to release all political detainees amid current situation and concerned agencies will take a call soon for their release. (KNS)
