SRINAGAR : Reacting to sacking of J&K bank chairman by the Government AIP president Er. Rasheed has said that though it is the prerogative of the government to transfer or post officers but the intentions of the Government are creating suspense.

In a statement issued today Er. Rasheed said that bringing transparency in the system and ending nepotism should be always welcomed but the fact is that much has been talked about J&K Bank in the past.

Er. Rasheed said “There has been a vigorous campaign against J&K bank since past 10 years on behest of those who aim always at creating confusions and doubts over the credibility of J&K Bank. J&K Bank had earned a name and has been the only autonomous institution which has taken state out of crises at odd occasions and raiding the offices of J&K Bank at various places has send a strong negative feeling among masses. The apprehensions that union Government has been very keen to end the indigenous character of J&K Bank should be a matter of great concern.”

Er. Rasheed added that before J&K Bank Government has destroyed J&K projects construction corporation and other such prestigious institutions by making unwanted interferences and changing the organizational structure by imposing bureaucrats to take over against the posts which otherwise is to be  none of their business. Er. Rasheed appealed Governor Administration to come up with a white paper and justify the action taken against J&K chairman.

Questioning the timing of the action Er. Rasheed said that none other than Governor Mr. Satya Pal Malik has praised the sacred chairman publically on more than many occasions and the sudden decision of the Government to replace and sack the chairman needs immediate clarifications. He added that Government must not forget that people are the stake and shareholders in J&K Bank and it is important that people should know the truth.

Er. Rasheed cautioned the new management about the ongoing recruitment process in the J&K Bank and reiterated that no rules should be changed when the recruitment process is already on. (PTK)
