SRINAGAR : Taking strong not of the complaints have time and again received regarding injudicious use of Essential Commodities, extravaganza expenditures being made in both public and private functions by most of the people in state, the government today issued an order of imposing restrictions on it .
The government order reads, “There shall be complete ban on the use of amplifiers/ loud speakers/ fire crackers in any government or private social function, which create sound beyond human capacity of hearing”.
It adds that the number of guests to be invited on the marriage of daughter (barat); marriage of son and engagement of son, daughter and other small functions should be to a maximum of 500, 400 and 100 respectively.
Adding further, it mentions, the number of non-veg/ veg dishes to be cooked in such functions should be restricted to a maximum of 07 each and two stalls of sweets or fruits.
The government order said that it should be ensured that there should be no wastage of any sort of food items uncooked or cooked during such functions. Even if there are some surplus food items (cooked), same shall not be thrown to dustbins but should be provided to deserving people/ old age homes etc after properly preserving/ packing the same.
The order said that no plastic, non-decomposable material shall be thrown into the field but shall be collected in separate dustbins and shall be disposed of properly by the host, organiser.
It reads that the order shall come into force w.e.f 1st April 2017.
