SRINAGAR: Soon after the separatists’ leaders Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik reached the residence of Syed Ali Geelani to visit him, police arrested the trio.
Reports said that the trio was expected to hold a joint press conference after they stage a protest.
Reports said that the Police arrested Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik after the trio staged a protest in Hyderpora area of Srinagar.
The leaders staged the protest after police barred them from holding a press confernec at the residence of Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani. Reports added that the leaders were arrested and shifted to police station Humhama.
Before being bundled into the police vehicle, the trio called for the boycott of upcoming parliamentary by-polls.
