Srinagar: A gas cylinder explosion in Kupwara jail has left all-but nine individuals injured, causing significant concern among authorities and the local community.
The incident occurred today within the jail premises. According to initial reports received by Srinagar based the blast happened in the jail area where a gas cylinder was in use. The force of the explosion resulted in injuries to nine people.
An official told that emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital. Medical personnel have stated that while some injuries are serious, all victims are currently receiving appropriate treatment and are in ‘stable’ condition.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to ensure that all safety protocols are reinforced to prevent such incidents in the future.
