SRINAGAR: Former IGP crime Jammu and Kashmir police Raja Ajaz Ali Khan joined Sajad Lone’s People’s Conference at the residence of Imran Raza Ansari in Srinagar.
On the occasion, PC chairman Sajad Gani Lone, Imran Raza Ansari and other PC leaders and workers welcomed Raja Ajaz into People’s Conference.
Raja Ajaz Ali Khan a resident of Pehlipora Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district contested the last assembly elections on PDP ticket but lost the elections against the National Conference candidate Mohammad Shafi Uri.
Raja Ali, a former Inspector General of Police (IGP), had joined politics in 2014 and secured 19000 votes in the Assembly election held later that year.
He stood next to Congress candidate Taj Mohi-ud-Din who was the nearest rival of Shafi in Uri assembly constituency.
Accusing party leadership of ignoring him, Ali said that his growth in the party was curtailed and he was not politically empowered. (PTK)
