JAMMU: The employees of the Jammu and Kashmir forest corporation today staged a protest here demanding release of pending daily allowances and regularization of their jobs.
The employees under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir forest corporation (JKFCU) assembled at Pratap Park here and staged anti-government demonstration. Chanting slogans, the protesters were demanding regularisation of daily rated workers, protection of state forest corporation, release pending daily alliance and implementation of seventh pay commission.
The protesting employees demanded reorganization of the department, timely promotions, regularization of daily wagers and above all constitution of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) at the earliest.
The protesters threatened that to intensify their struggle in case the government fails to meet their demands.
While demanding constitution of Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of all the Non Gazetted employees, Hafiz Dar said, “non gazetted forest officers, watchers including guards, foresters and gardeners are being subjected to humiliation as despite numerous pleas and running from pillar to post since last two decades, none of our demands have been met with and government is playing with the emotions of poor employees for unknown reasons.”
He said that if their demands are not met, they will intensify their stir. (PTK)
