Srinagar : Combined Forces and civil administration paid their tribute to three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, who had lost their lives in a militant attack in North Kashmir’s Sopore town yesterday, as a wreath laying ceremony was held for the slain troopers at RTC Humhama area of Srinagar outskirts.
Sources told KNT that besides Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Baseer Ahmed Khan, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, IGP Kashmir, IG CRPF, DIG SSB, SSP Budgam and others were present during wreath laying ceremony.
The civil and police officers paid floral tributes to the departed souls.
Three CRPF personnel were killed and two others injured after militants targeted troopers from 179 Battalion in Sopore on Saturday late afternoon.
The slain troopers were identified as Head Constable Rajiv Sharma of Vaishali Bihar, CB Bhakaree of Maharashtra and Parmar Satya Pal Singh of Gujurat.
The bodies of these troopers were sent to their respective native states for final cremation. (KNT)
