Vigilance books police constable on corruption charges

Jammu: Vigilance Organization registered a formal case against Constable Nazir Hussain Shah (601/J) working in Jammu Kashmir Police and then posted at Police Station Mandi in Poonch District for indulging in corrupt practices.

The instant case has been registered on the basis of complaint lodged by  one Muhammad Aslam of Sathra Tehsil Mandi District Poonch before the State Vigilance Commission J&K alleging therein that Constable  Nazir Hussain Shah had demanded and accepted Rs.75,000 from the complainant in lieu of getting his son recruited as constable in Police Department.

The enquiry conducted reveals that said constable Nazir Hussain Shah had taken bribe up to the tune of Rs.75,000 from the complainant on the pretext of getting his son appointed in the Police Department.

On the prima facie establishment of the allegations, formal case has been registered against above mentioned accused in Police Station, VOJ and investigations started. (CNS)
