Srinagar : Police on Monday claimed to have brought back five missing boys safely who had “threatened their parents to join militant ranks.”
Parents of some boys from Srinagar reported to Police that they received phone calls from their kids who had left for their school in the morning informing that they are going to join the militant ranks, a police spokesman said in a statement.
“To ensure quick and timely action, Srinagar police constituted a special team and with the help of families, strenuous efforts led to tracing of all the five missing boys. They were brought back safely. It is learnt that the boys were threatening to join militancy whereas no active association of these boys could be found with any outfit,” the spokesman said.
Later, all the five boys were counseled and handed over to the parents. Timely information and efforts of the family played a key role in this endeavour, the spokesman added. (GNS)
