SRINAGAR: A cemented total hip replacement surgery, first of its kind as per the directorate of health service, Kashmir, was done at Sub District Hospital, Kreeri.
As per the official statement, an old male patient resident of Kreeri, Baramulla who had history of fall was diagnosed with fracture neck of femur bone, was operated upon successfully.
“The team included Dr Zamir Ali, Orthopedician including Dr Mohd Sadiq, Anaesthetist, Bashir Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad, Tasleema Akhter, Sajad Hussain, Waseem Ahmad, Mohd Abdullah Bhat, Shameema Bano (theatre staff)”, statement said.
Statement added that the patient after successful recovery has been discharged from the hospital.
It is pertinent to mention here that this kind of advanced orthopaedic surgery has been performed for the first time across Kashmir Division at Sub District Hospital level.
