SRINAGAR: A boy is feared to lost his partial eyesight in Khonchipora village of North Kashmir’s Tangmarg area on Thursday after a firecracker accidentally bursts in between his eyes.
The injured boy is identified as Sahil Bashir Chopan S/O Bashir Ah Chopan, a resident of Khonchipora village in Tangmarg.
As per reports, a group of teenagers was bursting firecrackers in the village to celebrate Eid ul Fitr. During which one of the firecrackers hits the boy, Sahil Bashir, walking in the Street and bursts in between his eyes with high intensity.
Which has resulted in severe injuries to his eyes and it is feared, Chopan may have lost his partial eyesight.
It has been noticed over the years that teenagers are bursting firecrackers in public places like streets, parks and near shops which puts life of public in high risk and meanwhile administration seems a mute spectator.
“Yesterday we were in Pandav park Pattan, around hundreds of firecrackers were thrown towards public comprising mainly of kids and females by some rowdy boys which created disturbances in the park.
As a result majority of the people left the park in hurry amid fear of May getting injuries”, one of the resident Mohd Omar, studying law at Central University of Kashmir said.
Meanwhile people have appealed administration to take a serious note of it and put a blanket ban on sale of firecrackers. (PTK)
