Srinagar: Police on Friday said that a case has been registered against the organizers and participants of a Youm-e-Quds procession in Sonpah village, Beerwah, for creating law and order situation by raising objectionable slogans.
In a statement the police said that during the procession, a large crowd gathered under the directions of organizer and gave objectionable slogans.
By sloganeering, organisers tried to create law and order situation and blocked Sonpah – Beerwah road, thereby causing obstruction to smooth movement of general public.
Taking cognizance of the incident, Budgam Police have registered a case under Sections 126(2) and 189(6) of (BNS), 2023, vide FIR No. 33/2025 at Police Station Beerwah.
Further investigation is underway, and necessary action as per law will be taken against those involved, he said.
Budgam police urge citizens to maintain peace and refrain from any activities that could disturb public order, reads the statement.(GNS)
