Program part of ‘Mission 11 Million’ football initiative

SRINAGAR: As a part of a football initiative ‘Mission Eleven Million’ aimed towards taking the game to hundreds of schools in 37 cities across the country, Jammu & Kashmir Youth Services & Sports today organized a seminar cum worship at Indoor stadium In Srinagar.

The seminar was part of a project in which school children, teachers are encouraged to play football. With the FIFA Under-17 World Cup being held in India in October, seminars and workshops are being conducted to take football to 11 million children across country.

FIFA U-17 World Cup is being organised in partnership with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). On the occasion, J&K Minister for Youth Service and Sports Imran Raza Ansari was the chief guest while as MOS Youth Services and Sports Sunil Kumar Sharma graced the programme as guest of Honour.

Besides others Secretary to Government J&K Youth Services and Sports Department, Hilal Ahmad Paray, President J&K Football Association and functionaries of All India Football Federation (AIFF) were present in the inaugural ceremony of the Workshop.

Principals, Physical Education Teachers and Field Staff of Youth Services and Sports Department too made their presence in the important Football Workshop. Legendary Football Players of Kashmir Valley were felicitated by Chief Guest Molvi Imran Raza Ansari.

The proceedings of the event were conducted by Mohammad Amin Bhat and TV Anchor Azhar Hajni. Shiekh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Service and Sports presented a detailed report on the activities of the department and formally welcomed guests in the function.

Imran Raza Ansari while expressing his joy on the mass participation of teachers and coaches in the programme stated that such programmes are being organized to generate awareness among the masses about games and sports. He said such programmes will be made a regular feature hereafter.

He stressed upon the field staff of Youth Services and Sports Department to keep the enthusiasm of taking sports activities to newer levels and help school children to achieve laurels in the field.
