SRINAGAR: The mother of 18-year-old Srinagar boy Fahad Mushtaq a day after his picture with an AK-47 rifle surfaced on the social media, made a passionate appeal for his son to return back and shun militancy.
Mother of the youth said, “Our home was saved in 2014 deluge, but this deluge have sweep my whole household. My sons, please come back.”
The family members of the Fahad Mushtaq assembled at the press enclave to appeal their son through media. They said that the decision of the Fahad was unexpected. His mother Mymoona, said, “This is the first time ever her son lied to her. I never expected that he would take this step”.
She said that last Friday, he told her that he is going with Tableegi Jamaa’t (group of preachers) but did not return. “We were shocked to see his picture brandishing a rifle on social media”, she said.
Fahad has reportedly joined Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit. Fahad, a resident of Akalmir Khanyar area of Srinagar’s old city, had last year failed to qualify his 10th class examination, said they said.
They added that he was more inclined towards religion from last year and allowed by the family to join Tableegi Jamaa’t.
However his uncle said that he was looking disturbed since long. “Something was going on inside him. He was not even interested in studies. But, we didn’t know that he would take this extreme step where death is expected any moment. (PTK)
