Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Lt. Governor Manoj Sihha on Monday said that the families of three Rajouri youths killed in an alleged fake encounter in Amshipora Shopian will be delivered justice.
The Lt. Governor was replying to a question during a presser addressed by him at Raj Bhawan Srinagar on Monday afternoon, news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) reported.
The families of three youth from Rajouri had written to Sinha on 11th September seeking justice for the slain youth allegedly killed in a fake encounter by the army on 18th July in Shopian.
According to news agency KDCThe families in their letter had expressed their dissatisfaction over the slow pace of the investigation and delay in the delivery of justice.
Pertinently DNA samples of six members of the three families were taken on 13th August 2020, the results of which are yet to be received or made public
Apart from the concerned families the investigation has come under severe criticism from various quarters especially the defenders of the Human Rights for its snail’s pace who have alleged that the investigation process is slow because authorities are allegedly trying to botch it up to save those who are involved in the killing of the youths.
The slain youths which include a minor were actually labourers who had come to Shopian with an aim to earn a livelihood, but were allegedly killed in a ruthless and fake encounter by the army.
The LG Manoj Sinha assured that the families will definitely get justices and the law will take its own course and the guilty will be punished. (KDC)
