Srinagar: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested person on the allegations of working as conduit of gun dealers and officials of various districts of the then State of J&K. The arrested person had also indulged in various financial transactions with other co-accused persons including public servants.
According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), CBI had registered a case on the consent of J&K Government and further notification from Government of India and taken over the investigation of FIR No. 18 of 2018 dated 17.05.2018, earlier registered at Police Station Vigilance Organization Kashmir (VOK). “The allegations in the case were that during the period 2012 to 2016, the Dy. Commissioners of various districts of J&K, including District Kupwara had fraudulently and illegally issued bulk arms licenses in lieu of monetary consideration,” read a statement issued by CBI here.
It said that after taking over the case, searches were also earlier conducted at the premises of accused which led to recovery of incriminating documents.
“The arrested accused was produced before the competent court at Srinagar and was remanded to 10 days police custody,” the statement said, adding that the further investigations were on—(KNO)
