SRINAGAR: Congress leader Kadfeen Choudhary on Thursday slammed the state authorities over the water logging in Srinagar and government’s inaction to address such crisis.
Kadfeen said in a statement that scores of areas of Srinagar including the city centre Amira Kadal has tuned into a cesspool and not even a single lane and alley is there which has not been waterlogged due to the incessant rains witnessed till recently in Kashmir. He said that such is the failure of the state government that drain water has entered into many house compounds in Srinagar, reflecting the sorry state of affairs Kashmir is reeling under at present.
He urged the governor administration to take the erring officials of the concerned departments to task who have made people to suffer so sadistically. He said that the faulty drainage system in the city is taking toll and making things worse everything there is little precipitation in the city. If such a situation continues, said Kadfeen, Srinagar will soon turn in a a disgusting place to live in. (PTK)
