Exise Department held a programme on Drug Abuse at Delina Baramulla

Delina Baramulla: Today J&K Exise Department in collaboration with GHSS Delina held a day long programme on the menace of Drug Addiction. The programme aimed to sensitise youth about the hazards of Drug Addiction and substance misuse. The sessions of the programme were moderated by Senior Lecturer Qazi Syed Sajad, he described the drug addiction as a major concern which effects our socio, educational and economic fabric.Lecturer Dr Haris Hamza Lone handled the pledge and certification ceremony. Besides informative sessions on the topic different events viz carrom match, volleyball competition and Tug of War was held in the school playground. This was done to emphasise the importance of sports for youth. The main attraction of the programme was painting competition on the theme of Drug Abuse; problem and panacea. More than 60 students participated and expressed their disapproval for the menace through amazing art works. Syed Bisma, Mohammad Abas Mir and Ahsan ul Haque bagged first,second and third positions respectively. A awareness rally was also held wherein students and teachers raised slogans against the misuse of substances. Those who attended the programme include Principal GHSS Delina Mr Aijaz Ahmad Wani, Vice Principal Tabassum Rashid, Senior Lecturer Hilal Ahmad, Exise Inspector Shabir Ahmad Malik, Exise Inspector Mohd Altaf Wani, Exise Inspector Abid Bashir, Exise Sub Inspector Gowhar Majeed Wani, Exise Sub Inspector Hilal Ali, Exise Sub Inspector Ali Mohammad, Exise Sub Inspector Mohammad Mukhtar and Exise official Hilal Ahmad. The officers of Exise Department acknowledged the pro active role of Qazi Syed Sajad for his continous and vigorous campaigns against Drug Addiction in Delina and awarded him with a medal and certificate. Other officials of GHSS Delina who were appreciated for their active participation in the day long programme include Dr Haris Hamza Lone, Harmeet Kour, Bilal Ahmad Sofi and Mohamad Rafiq. Inspector Shabir Ahmad Malik declared the programme as a huge succes and wished to carry more such programmes in the historical institution.
